The Horsell Schools’ Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

What is the PTA?

The Horsell Schools’ PTA is a joint association for The Horsell Village School and Horsell Church of England Junior School raising funds to provide extra facilities and equipment for the children of both schools. As parents of children in either school you automatically become members.

We are a registered charity [1094182]

Each class has a class representative that facilitates information between the PTA and parents/carers.

What do we hope to achieve?

This year we are aiming to raise more than £25,000 to enable the purchase of additional Chromebooks (for the Junior School) and a wellbeing pod for the infant school. The schools would not be able to provide these only with the Local Education Authority’s funding.

January:

February:

• Fri 28th, Quiz night (adults only), Horsell Junior School

March:

• Sat 29th – Sun 13th (Apr), Easter Trail

April:

• Fri 4th at pick up, Doughnut sale, Both schools

• 25th (TBC) Bags2School, Both schools

• Date TBC, Bingo & Biryani, Horsell Junior School

May:

• Sat 17th 10:00-11:30, Good as new uniform sale, Horsell Junior School

• Date TBC, Plant sale

June:

• Date TBC, Mufti day for Summer Fair donations

July:

• Sat 5th 12:00-3:00, PTA Summer Fair, Horsell Junior School

• Tue 22nd at pick up, Ice cream sale, Both schools

Who are the PTA?

The PTA is managed by a committee which consists of three 3 Officers (Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) and ordinary committee members (no specific numbers).

Uniform Sale Lead: A great role for one or a couple of parent friends to pair up for this role. This event takes place three time a year at the beginning of each full term. There will be an opportunity to shadow the current Uniform lead as well as a detailed handover. Application deadline: April 2025

Deputy Secretary: Supporting the current Secretary with the view to succeed her. Primary role is to arrange the AGM, bi-yearly PTA committee meetings and to take minutes and be one of the 3 signatory trustees of the PTA committee. Application deadline: April 2025

Deputy Chair: Working together with the current chair with the view to succeed her. A great role to raise funds for the two schools and lead the committee and over see various fundraising events. Application deadline: April 2025
