Science

Here at The Horsell Village School, enquiry and investigation are at the heart of our curriculum. All opportunities in Science are carefully planned to ensure that the children develop a deep understanding of the natural and human world through topics such as plants, animals, everyday materials and seasonal changes.

Lessons and enrichment opportunities are structured to provide the children with a variety of valuable experiences, which support them in developing a range of investigation skills and knowledge.

Our aim is for the children to be inquisitive about the world around them, asking questions and considering different ways to prove and answer them. They are be given numerous chances to practice 'working scientifically', experiencing and observing phenomena, using secondary resources and designing and carrying out investigations.

This all nurtures a zest for enquiry and acquisition of knowledge, which will enhance their future learning journeys in all subjects.
