RE

Here at The Horsell Village School, we believe that it is important for all our pupils to learn from and about religion, so that they can understand the world around them.

Through Religious Education, our pupils develop their knowledge of the world faiths, and a balanced understanding and awareness of the beliefs, values and traditions of other individuals, societies, communities and cultures. We encourage our pupils to ask questions about the world and to reflect on their own beliefs, values and experiences and provide them with opportunities to apply this knowledge and understanding across the curriculum. Our Religious Education curriculum is enhanced further with visitors from the local Church and trips to places of worship in our local area.

We use the agreed Surrey Religious Education syllabus as the basis for our curriculum

It is nearly time for our Harvest Festival!

We will be holding our Harvest celebrations throughout the week of 2nd – 6th October.

Over the next few weeks we will be learning our Harvest poems and songs in preparation for our Harvest Celebration in St Mary’s Church (children only) on Thursday 5th October.

We will also begin to create our own harvest display in the hall. To help, we invite our parents and children to bring a small food donation to school. This can either be a tinned or dried food type. Please can we ask that all donations are made by Friday 6th October 2023

This year we will be donating the food to Woking Foodbank. Woking foodbank are an incredible source of support for many families and individuals in the local area and are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, who work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
